VEX ROBOTICS COMPETITION
We are Team 42700: The Crusaders, an all-boys middle and high school robotics team, representing Saint Louis School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Team 4270 originally started as Team 2440 in 2012 by Dwayne Yamaguchi. It then changed from 2440 to 4270, as the robotics program continued until 2014. After being dormant for two years, the robotics program was reintroduced to Saint Louis School in the 2016-2017 school year under the influence of Travis Takashima, a former robotics mentor from Farrington High school "Team 2504". Mr. Takashima led our team to become 2017 VRC state championship finalists in Hilo, Hawai'i.
Eventually, guiding the team to becoming FRC Hawaii regional finalists. Teaming up with "1661 Griffitrons" and "3721 Charger Robotics", where we then qualified to attend the FIRST World Championship in Houston. Also, being written up by the "Hawai'i Star-Advertiser" for being the highest ranked team from Hawaii after the qualification rounds. We finished off our first FRC season since 2014 by becoming division quarter-finalists at the 2017 FRC World Championship in Houston, Texas. Teaming up with Team 1661, 3737, and 1540.
In the 2017-2018 school year, we are holding our first year of VEX IQ Competition with our middle school crusaders. Mentored by Adria Fung, a graduate of our sister school, Sacred Hearts Academy "Team 2437 Lancer Robotics". In the same year, the VEX IQ team had qualified for the 2018 VEX IQ World Championship held in Kentucky.
